The beginning of summer is also seen as the end of the school year. During the summer keeping kids busy and occupied can become a tedious task to do. Especially when you want to keep the kids learning while school is out. There are so many great ways to keep kids occupied learning throughout the summer!

Reading Programs

Many different public libraries or schools will have a summer reading book club. I know when I was younger, the public library in my city always had one and there were different tiers in relation to how many books you have read so far. Getting kids involved with these can be a great way to keep their minds distracted and to learn at the same time. Spend a day at your local library so that kids can find books that fit their interests.

Creative Projects

Blank Book

Another great option is to have kids design their own books! Kids love coming up with creative stories. Blank books are available all over and can be easily bought individually or in sets! Kids can write their story and then draw pictures to go along with it. It can be a great way to build their writing skills. It is great for younger kids as well because they can draw pictures if they haven't been taught how to write yet!

summer camp

Summer camps

Camps are also a great way to have kids learn and stay busy during the summer. They can be local or in another city/state. Their are a variety of summer camps available to kids! While at summer camp kids can learn and develop their relationship building skills by having to meet and be with a new group of people.

There are so many different opportunities to keep kids busy and continue to learn throughout the summer. You can always call your local library or school and see if they are familiar with options in your area!
